Wedding Accessories: Small Things Can Add Up

Wedding accessory is the one area where you will easily overspend. And it is also the one area where the bridal shops make most of their profits from. The reason? High mark-ups. In the bridal industry 100% price mark-up is not unusual.

Find Wedding Accessories At Non-bridal Stores

My advice for saving some money on wedding accessories? Shop non-bridal stores.Think about the bridal accessories: head pieces, jewelry, gloves, shoes, handbag …. Don’t you think the regular accessory or department stores will have the same? And they are often offered at better prices too. So why pay more while you can get the same stuff for less? Check out WrapWithUs.com, they have a very good selection on bridal accessories as well as other wedding accessories (such ring pillows, cake toppers, guest book etc.), all at very phenomenon prices.

Make Your Own Wedding Accessories

Another great way to reduce the cost of wedding accessories is to Do-It-Yourself. Among all the things, the veil is probably the easiest one to make it yourself. Buying it from a bridal store, it can cost as high as $100s. But buy a piece of fabric, get a sample online, sew it together and you can have the veil you like for much less. My friend who just got married had her eyes on a wedding veil from a bridal store for $199, she went home and made herself a very similar one with a total cost of $35. Not bad at all, right?

Get Creative With Cheaper Alternatives

Also get creative, think about cheaper alternatives. Do you have to have a veil or a tiara, while some fresh flowers from the garden can do? See what I mean? On the same note, look at your list of accessories and cross out the ones that you are likely won’t be using. Remember, small things can add up too and throw your budget off track. Don’t waste money on things you don’t really need.
